Green Awards Presented at Annual Dinner

On Wednesday, January 14, 2014, the Wilton Go Green Board of Advisors held its annual meeting at Marley’s and gave out four awards.

Henryk Teraskiewicz, executive director of Woodcock Nature Canter was given the “Green Partner Recognition Award,” for outstanding performance and lasting contribution in supporting conservation and active earth stewardship in the Town of Wilton.

Janet Nobles, Middlebrook school teacher and leader of its recycling club, received the “Green Teaching Award,” for outstanding performance and lasting contribution in educational initiatives to drive sustainability in the town of Wilton.

Alex Scaperotta, a junior at Wilton High School received the “Green Student Award,” for outstanding performance and lasting contribution in education initiative to drive sustainability in the Town of Wilton.

Bruce Hampson, chairman of the Wilton Energy Commission, was presented the “Energy Effectiveness Award,” for outstanding performance and lasting contribution in driving change in energy efficiency in the Town of Wilton.

Also, during the dinner vice president Jana Bertkau presented a check for $750 to Pat Sesto who is the chairman of the Norwalk River Valley Trail.  Wilton Go Green has donated over $5,500 to the trail as part of the Wilton Energy Challenge.  This ongoing challenge encourages Wilton residents to complete a Home Energy Solutions assessment with one of Wilton’s approved vendors.  These vendors then donate to the trail.  For more information see the earlier posting on Wilton Energy Challenge.
