Sound Cyclists Bicycle Club Rides offered from 8:45am – 11am, prior to the start of the festival  - Varying levels of difficulty.  No need to register; just show up in the Bright Horizons parking lot (Godfrey Place) dressed appropriately, with your bike and helmet!  Ride types and meeting times are as follows:

Level A: Very Fast – 20+ MPH (Average 25+ MPH flat road speed); ARRIVE BY 8:45 for 9 AM DEPARTURE   (45 miles, hilly)

Level B: Fast – 17-19  MPH (Average 22+ MPH flat road speed) ARRIVE BY 9 FOR 9:15 AM DEPARTURE    (44 miles; rolling, hilly)

Level B-:  Fast – 16-17.5 MPH (Average 20+ MPH flat road speed)  ARRIVE BY 9 FOR 9:15 AM DEPARTURE   (44 miles; rolling, hilly)

Level C+:  Moderately Fast – 14-16 MPH     ARRIVE BY 9:15 FOR 9:30 AM DEPARTURE    (37 miles; rolling, hilly)

Level C:  Intermediate – 13-14 MPH   ARRIVE BY 9:30 FOR 9:45 AM DEPARTURE     (27 miles; rolling, hilly)

Level D/D+:  Slow/Intermediate – 11-13 MPH   ARRIVE BY 9:45 FOR 10 AM DEPARTURE     (8 miles; flat, rolling)

Level E: Family:  Slow – Less than 9-11 MPH     DEPART AT 11AM      (5 miles; flat) 

 

8:30am:  Woodcock Nature Center “Where the Wild Things Run”: 5K Race/Walk and Kids Fun Run (meet at Woodcock Nature Center   Register here.

3:00pm:  Norwalk River Walk; led by Dave Havens, from St. Luke’s School and the Norwalk River Watershed Association.  There are cool critters living in the Norwalk River!  For adults and kids ages 9 and up.  Meet at the Wilton Y parking lot, 404 Danbury Rd.  Register in advance by emailing info@wiltongogreen.org; space is limited.  Additional information available here.

 

11am-4pm: Festival hours on the Wilton Town Green and in the Wilton Library

More than 80 informative, fun exhibits and activities related to sustainable building and energy, food, land and water, waste, recycling and transportation.  Highlights include:

                                                                    

City Carting’s Shredding Truck will provide FREE, secure paper shredding from 11am to 2:30 pm (Wilton Post Office Parking Lot, 15 Hubbard Road)

Earth Balloon, sponsored by Deloitte:  Take a journey to the center of the earth! Ongoing presentations throughout the day in the Brubeck Room of the Wilton Library. FREE tickets available at the door. Pick them up early at the festival!
