Wilton Go Green is 100% Volunteer-Operated!

Every dollar that comes in directly supports our mission to:

  1. engage the community in initiatives and programs that advance a culture of conservation and
  2. educate residents, schools, and businesses about best practices, thereby
  3. promote & support efforts by the Town of Wilton and other Wilton organizations to achieve environmental sustainability.

Notable Accomplishments and Initiatives in 2022:

  1. Hosted our Zero Waste Faire & Sustainable Living Expo with over 35 exhibitors and hundreds of attendees. We also diverted 52 mattresses/box springs, 1.5 tons of paper shredding, 2 Junkluggers Trucks of household items, 9 pallets of e-waste (batteries, tvs, computers, and more!),1- 20 yard trailer of textiles, 1 box of corks to be used for purposeful play in our preschool, 1 box of markers to be recycled and 50 eyeglasses to be recycled.
  2. Wilton Go Green was accepted into the Small Business Energy Advantage Community Partnership Initiative (SBEA CPI) with Eversource. Through this program, Wilton Go Green received funding to promote the SBEA program to local small businesses, private schools and nonprofits, allowing these organizations to improve energy efficiency measures in their facilities with little out-of-pocket expense. Over 18 Wilton businesses have participated in the program in 2022, resulting in improved workspaces, reduced energy consumption and cost savings generation. A win for our businesses and a win for the environment!
